Gillpatrick Woodworks joins forces with Pacific Mutual Door

Joined by our passion for quality woodworking and a keen eye for detail, Gillpatrick Woodworks and Pacific Mutual Door (PMD) have joined together to create a division offering custom built cabinetry, furniture and architectural woodwork.

PMD offers a varied selection of building materials including windows, doors, trim, stair systems, hardware and columns. PMD stocks the most extensive selection of moldings in Kansas City in a variety of species, and have built an extensive inventory of custom knives. PMD can also create nearly any custom profile you can imagine with our in-house knife grinding capabilities.

Gillpatrick Woodworks can now supplement those offerings by providing high-end custom woodwork of all types. We will continue to work directly with contractors, builders, remodelers, homeowners, designers, and architects to design and craft quality woodwork projects that are truly unique and fit the space they are designed to enhance.

Our products will also now be featured exclusively at the PMD showroom, “The Window Door and Trim Store”. Cabinetry and custom millwork installations are being integrated into the existing showroom, providing a “one stop” location for architects, designers, and home-owners.

Pacific Mutual Door carries a proud history, and will celebrate their 100 years anniversary in 2012.

Two GWI projects featured in KC Magazine Design Excellence Awards

In July’s issue, KC Magazine announced the 2010 Design Excellence Award Winners. Two of Gillpatrick Woodworks projects were award winners.

The Embry Residence took two awards; earning a Gold in the “Interior | Contemporary Design” category, as well as a Gold in the “Architecture | Contemporary” categories. Coined the “McCondo” (a play on the homeowners name), Compass Architecture took home the Silver award in the “Interior | Contemporary Design” category for their condo interior design. You can also see photos of the inteiror at www.compassarchitecture.com. The following are photos of our work.

GWI Commissioned for Custom Furniture at Nelson Atkins

We’re excited that GWI has been commissioned to provide several new custom benches for the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art.

These will primarily be made from Ash, and get an “Ebonized” finish. The seat will be a custom wrapped “Edelman Royal Hide” leather, with custom bead blasted stainless steel end caps.

We’ll post some pictures when they are complete.
